I Heart Faces Photo Challenge: Hands

It%u2019s been a while since I have entered the weekly I Heart Faces Photo Challenge, but when I saw that this week%u2019s theme was %u2018Hands%u2019, one image immediately came to mind. This image was taken at the hospital in the first few hours of Baby H%u2019s life. It was taken when her Mommy and Daddy were just learning the curves of her face, her expressions, and just how tiny and fragile she really was. As I was snapping away, her mother touched her foot and that fragility was boldly evidenced by the contrast.

Although Bridgeport Marketplace is technically a shopping center (anchored by California Pizza Kitchen and Valley Produce Market) and it is known for it%u2019s duck pond, what often goes unnoticed is the hardscaping and landscaping. This locations boasts gorgeous, modern fountains, stone planters and walkways landscaped with lush and colorful plants and flowers, and eclectic, colorful buildings and patios with unique wrought iron fences.

In my opinion, one of the greatest features of the original Valencia neighborhoods is access to the paseos, which also connect to many of the parks. The paseos are lush, winding walkways with huge old trees and mature green foliage, all connected by uniquely-styled bridges. As you wander the paseos, the landscape changes from area to area, boasting small cozy spots to sit and wide open grassy areas.

edRover Launch Party

When edRover contacted me to photograph their launch party at The Paseo Club, I was on board right away. My focus has always been on giving back to my community, especially supporting local schools (hence why I often list deals on Screamin%u2019 Daily Deals), so this non-profit organization was a great fit for Cristen Farrell Photography. The party had a great turnout and tons of support from the Santa Clarita community!

The Best Me I Can Be

When I%u2019m photographing a client, my main goal is to capture their emotion and personality%u2026those special little moments that mean more than everything else combined. As I looked back through my blog, the emotion between kids and their parents%u2026between lovers%u2026between many generations stared back and at me and I felt that THIS is one of the main aspects of my style. My images are bright and bold because I feel that this further highlights the magnitude of the emotion in the images. I often use depth of field to tell a story. I focus (and I don%u2019t mean, focus with my camera) on the eyes, as I truly do believe that they are the windows to the soul.
